Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Law from Tilburg University and a master’s degree in International Security from the University of Bristol, where she studied with a Think Big Scholarship.During her master’s dissertation, she conducted research on the factors affecting the ongoing implementation of the 2016 peace agreement in Colombia with a focus on the rights of victims, an analysis which was guided by discussions with experts and Colombian peacebuilding practitioners.Maria is an intern at LatinNews and has published two pieces on security and foreign policy issues at E-International Relations and the Daily Express.She is a native Spanish-speaker and is currently pursuing a career in the field of geopolitics and security.
