Jacob Hougie is a recent graduate in Human, Social and Political Science from the University of Cambridge and will be starting an MPhil in Political Theory at the University of Oxford later this year. His interest lies in the political-theoretical implications of real politics and the implications of political theory for politics, as well as in the underlying trends behind political activity. 

 

He has a particular interest in the rise of populist parties over the long term, their ideologies and the implications for democratic governance. He looks forward to contributing to the team at Global Weekly to provide relevant analysis.
